About Us
>
We are a non-profit organization aiming to show the love of Jesus Christ to our community through
technological training. Courses are announced on
our website, via twitter, and via our
facebook page.
Our courses are taught by industry experts and university/college professors. Courses are augmented after each
iteration to reflect current trends, and at the request of our partners.
Am I right for your program?
Yes! If you:
- have strong motivation to learn technology
- would like to socialize and meet others
- would like to elevate your technology and computer literacy
What is the application process?
There are two steps:
- Application opens roughly two months before the commencement of a course. You may apply directly on this
site. Please see the courses page for current
offerings.
- Your application will be verified for suitability for our course depending on your background knowledge. If
accepted, you will be invited for an interview.
How much does it cost?
MergeBC charges a small administration fee per course ($10 - $25 per student). Due to the wide array of
computing devices available and varying IT requirements for persons in all situations, MergeBC currently
requires the student to bring their own computing device that meets the following specifications:
- The computer has a keyboard and mouse (or other pointing device)
- The computer is a student-owned computer, a work computer may not suffice
- The computer has a battery that lasts 2+ hours
- The computer has a wifi card, to allow the student to connect to a wireless network.
If students do not have a computing device a Chromebook is recommended that is no more than 3 years old. If you
are planning to take further courses in Computer Programming and Application development you should reach out to a
MergeBC instructor.
Student Responsibilities
- Regular class attendence
- Good standing in the course
- A positive attitude towards learning
Do I need any technical background to apply?
That depends on the course, for 'Computer Applications' and 'Business Communication' courses, no previous technology or computer
experience is required. MergeBC does plan to offer other beginner, intermediate and expert level computer
courses which will require some previous knowledge depending on the course. Your application will be analyzed and
you'll be given feedback on your suitability for a course.
What courses do you offer?
Courses offered are dependant on demand from partners of MergeBC and the availability of instructors, we are

courses in a variety of courses including but not limited to Systems Analysis and Design, Cyber Security,
